Tamara Berdowska

Biography

Tamara Berdowska – Artist born in Rzeszów in 1962, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow (1985-1990) in the studio of Professor Janina Kraupe-Świderska. She received her diploma with distinction. Between 1988 and 2020 she participated in over 100 group exhibitions and 25 individual ones. Since 2000 she has participated in symposia organized by Bożena Kowalska for artists using geometry in their work (in Chełm, Orońsko, Radziejowice).

Tamara Berdowska received scholarships of the Ministry of Culture and Art, Emilly Car College of Art and Design in Vancouver (Canada), Pollock-Krasner Foundation (New York), Creative Scholarship of the Mayor of Bielsko-Biala and awards of Prof. Janina Kraupe-Świderska, Grand Prix at the exhibition Art of Two Times at the National Museum in Gdansk, Egeria 2000 – Award of the Mayor of the City (Ostrów Wielkopolski Museum), Witold Wojtkiewicz Award (Krakow). 

Her works can be found in the collections of the National Museum in Szczecin, Bochum Museum, Studio Gallery in Warsaw, Historical Museum of the City of Krakow, Archdiocese Museum in Katowice, District Museum in Chełm, District Museum in Radom, Polish Sculpture Center in Orońsko, Historical Museum in Bielsko-Biała, Mondriaanhuis Museum in Amersfoort, Mazovian Centre for Contemporary Art “Elektrownia” in Radom, Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, Museum Kulturspeicher Würzburg Sammlung Peter C. Ruppert and in private collections in Poland and abroad.
